Randy Hargis – 4 Horses - Mystery Lameness – Better Demeanor - Coat – Hoof - Joint Quality – More Relaxed

John Dowdy:

Hello, and welcome to this weeks Equinety podcast. We're swinging out to my old stomping grounds out in Oklahoma. We've got Randy Hargis on the podcast. Randy, welcome to the Team Equinety podcast.

Randy Hargis:

Hey, good morning, John.

John Dowdy:

Good.

Randy Hargis:

Appreciate the call and appreciate the opportunity.

John Dowdy:

Absolutely. Well, I sure appreciate it. I know you're really busy out there and I heard your stories. We've got four horses we're going to be talking about and you know, these are your roping and ranch horses. You're using them a couple of them I know are retired, but you know, you rely on these horses for your daily work. So let's go back. How long you been around horses? Let's start there.

Randy Hargis:

Oh, we've had horses all of our lives. We've used them for everything from pleasure to competing, to rodeoing, ranching on them, we just use them, have always had horses around.

John Dowdy:

Now, when you get into these four particular horses we're going to be talking about, was there something that was going on with him? Is that why you were kind of looking for a product to try to help out an issue, or how'd you kind of come across a product or what was going on with your horse specifically?

Randy Hargis:

Yes sir, John, it was. My main go to horse, he had a kind of a mystery lameness show up here in his right fore. And we were trying to figure out what was going on. Went to the vet, went through the whole regimen there of the ultrasound, the nerve blocking to find out where all this soreness was coming from and thought we had it pinpointed in the [desmoid 00:01:41] area.

Randy Hargis:

So we went through a kind of a long, drawn out recovery period there with him, a slow process. That soft tissue, as you know, it just slow. It's a slow process. Well I heard about Equinety, saw some of the guys that were it, some of the results that they were talking about, so I wanted to try it and I ordered the sample tub. And in just a short time, we noticed the immediate difference in the coat condition, hooves condition, hooves looked great. But also began to see some improvement in mobility, some improvement in that right foreleg. It looked like he was... Sure enough as easy to sore up on it as it had been, and so those result were showing up pretty quick. And that was really impressive John, to see that start showing up as quick as it did.

John Dowdy:

Yeah. So with all of the... Now, and this main horse that you had, this is one of your main horses. So it comes up with this mystery lameness. And you just purchased the two week little sample tub that we have, and you saw these massive results within this two week time period.

Randy Hargis:

Yes, sir. That's right. You know, starting with anything, you kind of have just that little niggling in the back of your mind and skepticism there. You thought, "Well, we'll see the." The results-

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

You always can find your own results and then you'll know for sure.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

And then know you can speak with confidence about the product, which I certainly will. So yes, the samples tub, we got that for a two week deal there and the... And these, I don't keep them up all the time. I've got to turn out little crap down here below the barn. And if they run around it, it's probably where all this mystery lameness shows up from.

John Dowdy:

Right.

Randy Hargis:

Anyway, they come up every day and hands on 'em every day. And boy, the coat thing is a... I mean, it really pops. It's really impressive. [Nick 00:05:59] is a dark soul, and you see that and you catch him in the light, adjust your eyes, and its just... Can't take my eyes off of it. It's just that good.

John Dowdy:

That's pretty awesome. Well, we hear so many stories through the years of people that... We have two sizes of this Equinety Horse XL's. So the little 15 day, which is what you're talking about, and then we have the hundred day. So the hundred day is $99.99. So a hundred bucks, dollar a day. But when you're wanting to try something, it's like, well, you may not want to pop for the hundred bucks and then find out it doesn't work is kind of the mindset. And so, a lot of people go with the two week thing just to find out. And I would say the vast majority of people notice changes within that two week period. There are times where it does take longer. I mean, I would say the upper 90 percentile of people see changes in 30 days or less, but for the most part, the people that are all using the product notice changes within a couple days to a couple weeks.

John Dowdy:

So, if you're out there and you just purchased the two week and you're coming up on the 14, 15 days here, and you're, don't think that you're seeing anything don't give up on it, because it is working. And I'll get into a little bit of the science of how it works in the body here in just a few minutes. But you always find this interesting with the mystery lameness thing, because obviously the mystery lameness says everything and you don't really know what's going on. You try all this stuff, you're spending a lot of money, and we've had more people have great results using the Equinety Horse XL to help solve these mystery lameness issues, just like in this one. And not to mention the mystery lameness, but then you've got the super shiny coat, the healthy coat, the better quality hooves, and so on and so forth. Just, how's the demeanor overall too with this horse?

Randy Hargis:

Yeah you bet John, that is another highly noticeable effect of being on the Equinety is... Nick was, he was just kind of a nervous sort. He was always a little pacey, standing tied up. He'd try to untie everybody's leg. He'd flash around, flip around side to side and after... Even when we were on this trial period I noticed that he was, seemed to be a lot more focused about what we were going to do. Standing tied, he'd stand calm. He remained calm. He wasn't near as antsy, or he wasn't near as... We just called him the hassle bandit. He wasn't near the hassle bandit that he had been before. He had a couple weeks of Equinety in him, and it sure made a difference in that.

John Dowdy:

Yeah, that's-

Randy Hargis:

Sure did.

John Dowdy:

Yeah, that's pretty great. Okay. Let's go to the second horse here.

Randy Hargis:

Well, the results were showing up so good in Nick, I had a couple of retired mares that we keep around. And so I thought "Well it's working so good for him, I'm just going to start trying it." I'd gone through the 15 day tub, the trial tub and had ordered the first big tub, so that's when I started her on that. And she was just an aged mare, she just seemed a little sored up, just not really frolicking around or anything like an old horse would do, just kind of go from sunny spot to sunny spot.

Randy Hargis:

But we started here on this and it was just a short time probably within at least that two weeks. And she seemed to be a lot freer moving. She is a lot more willing to walk out, take off and run around. Just seemed to be a lot more loosened up, in addition to having the shiny coat, really good looking hooves. She wasn't a wild bronc or anything either, but boy I mean, she really dropped her old head just come in, and she was just very calm about anything.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

Any activity around, nothing bothered her. She just remained pretty focused. So those results were impressive just watching what they did on this aged mare, in addition to what we'd already experienced with Nick.

John Dowdy:

Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty awesome. And then getting into the third one, this one in particular had this big knot on the knee. Do you know what even caused that?

Randy Hargis:

Well, there again, you mentioned that mystery lameness earlier and that's really all I can put my finger on about this mare.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

It comes in and has just about a lemon sized knot on her knee. No idea if she got kicked or stepped off in a hole down there. I don't know. Never could really put my finger on what happened.

Randy Hargis:

So this would be number three that we said, "Well, I've seen what it's done so far so I'm gonna see what it'll do on this old gal." Cause she was sure enough sore, and it was obvious there was a knot there. So I started her just in once a day. I started her on that, and it might've taken a little more than that two weeks, it might've been 18 or 20 days maybe of every day of doing that on her. And she was really moving a lot better, a lot more free. She just, she wasn't given to it like it was sore. And the size of that knot had gone down, well don't want to be dramatic, but it went down dramatically.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

From about that lemon size knot down to just... You could still kind of see a little poofy-ness there on her knee, but she wasn't sore with it, she didn't give to it. And man, I mean, she shined like a diamond. This is a red grown mare and she's got that dark red hair and that grown body from that Equinety sheen hit her. Man you could spot her from a mile away.

John Dowdy:

Wow. Yeah, that is awesome. Well, before we get into the fourth horse here, for those of you who are tuning in, and maybe you're just come across the product, the Equinety Horse XL, and you're thinking, "You know what? It sounds interesting, although I'm skeptical. Maybe it sounds too good to be true." And that's okay. You know, one of the really interesting things and unique things about the Equinety Horse XL is it doesn't fit into a specific supplement category. In other words, it's not a quote hoof supplement, joint supplement, shiny coat supplement, demeanor changing supplement.

John Dowdy:

What it's specifically designed to do is give the horse what it needs to release its own repairing hormones from the pituitary gland. And when that happens, the horse's body can send its own hormones to its own problem areas. And this is why it helps in so many ways from the mystery lameness, the better attitude, the shinier coat, the better quality hooves, the joints, they move better.

John Dowdy:

I mean, all of these things. And you know, the great thing about it is it starts working right away within hours. A lot of people, just as you've been talking about Randy, are noticing the changes within days to a couple weeks. I'm always more comfortable with people going at least 30 days on it, just because. But, it really is an amazing product. We are really blessed to have something that works so well, and in so many situations from... Now, how old is Nick, your first horse?

Randy Hargis:

He is about a 12-year-old.

John Dowdy:

Twelve? So-

Randy Hargis:

Yep.

John Dowdy:

Yep. So you've got 12 years up into the retired. So it's kind of all over the spectrum. We have breeders that use it. They're saying that it's showing an increase in fertility, so they start using it at that stage all the way until the pasture ornament stage. But yeah, the really unique thing too is not only is it pinpointing and customizing to each horse, you're also seeing similarities in all of them. From the demeanor, the soft, shiny coats. And that's one of the ways that you can tell that it's working at the molecular level is the hair and the hoof quality, and the demeanor.

Randy Hargis:

Yes, sir.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

Oh, you bet.

John Dowdy:

Yeah. So, and that brings us into your fourth horse because we have a lot of people that, they often have a problem with a horse and they're looking for something to solve that issue. And just like in your story here, it helped there and you're thinking well shoot, if it helped in that one. Next thing you know, the whole herd is on it. But getting to your-

Randy Hargis:

That's right.

John Dowdy:

Getting to your fourth horse which doesn't have any problems whatsoever, but you're using it as a preventative, which we have a lot of people that do that as well. So tell us about this one.

Randy Hargis:

Yes, sir. You bet. Yeah. The fourth horse that we were talking about there, yeah no issues with him. He was sound as a dollar, ready to go. But the results that we had noticed over the last four or five months of having these other horses on that Equinety, they just looked so good John. They just acted so good. So Equinety wasn't really an outlaw to begin with, but we started him on that. And in just a short time, boy the coat difference, hoof condition, those things like that. And I just put him on it, had the other three on it, and I put him on it just to see what it would do for him. And I mean, he's a rock headed, solid, ready to go, and looks like a million bucks. So just for that, we're going to keep him on that just, he looks so good on it.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

Keep anything from hopefully ever happening.

John Dowdy:

Yeah, that's right. And you know, just to... We've been on the market now eight years, and I know a lot of people that do use the product as a preventative in the event that something, an injury does creep up, the recovery seems to be a lot faster. Now, are you using just one scoop a day or are you using two scoops a day? How are you administering?

Randy Hargis:

Well, I use two scoops on Nick, the first horse that I started on. He's on two scoops a day now. Everybody else I use it basically in the evening feeding.

John Dowdy:

Yep.

Randy Hargis:

One scoop a day. And the one scoop a day, the results are certainly there.

John Dowdy:

Yeah, absolutely. So for those of you who are wondering, should I give one or two scoops? The science behind that is, is when you give one scoop in your case in the evening, those hormones are released and those hormones have a 23 and a half hour life cycle. So by the time you give a scoop the following evening, the hormone levels are back to where they would normally be for that age of a horse. And that's perfectly fine. Whether you feed it in the morning or the evening, it doesn't matter. Just the one scoop a day.

John Dowdy:

Where we recommend two scoops, so that's giving a scoop in the morning and a scoop in the evening. What you're doing there is you're keeping those hormone levels elevated and that just helps promote faster recovery all around. So if you get a working horse, or you're hauling high performance horses, or one that's injured and you're trying to bring back from an injury, highly recommend the scoop in the morning and the scoop in the evening. Now, the other thing is, is this isn't a loading dose. So there is no loading dose with this product. It's just 5.2 grams, which is like a teaspoon. And I didn't ask you this before, I'm going to ask you the question, but when you saw that tiny little scoop, what went through your mind of this when you saw that?

Randy Hargis:

Well, yeah. That's kind of what the instructions said, and the... But I'm the guy that, if little does a lot of good, a little good then a lot will do a lot of good.

John Dowdy:

Yep.

Randy Hargis:

I thought well, I'm going to follow the instructions, stick with that, see how it goes, and it doesn't look like much at all of that powder.

John Dowdy:

Yeah.

Randy Hargis:

Just the scoop that comes in the tub, it's sure handy. I just administer that scoop and go on and we love it.

John Dowdy:

Yeah. That's great. Well, the thing too is the, and this kind of throws a lot of people. It's like, they see this tiny little scoop, but maybe I've got at a 2000 plus pound draft horse, or I'm using it on my little tiny mini, or something in between. Well, here's the neat thing. It's one scoop, regardless of the size of the horse, because the dose isn't based on the size of the horse, it's based on the size of the pituitary gland, which is roughly the same size in horses. So that's what we're targeting, which is again, makes it very unique in that way. So, well, Randy, if there's anybody tuning into this call and they're thinking, "Man, those stories sound great, but maybe I'm a little iffy." Is there any advice or anything that you could say to them to get them to maybe try the product?

Randy Hargis:

You bet. I'll tell you what, probably everybody you talk to, John, likes their horses to look good. And I certainly fall in that. And so if you want your horse to look really good, act really good, this product I'm telling you, it's as advertised. It's certainly done what it says going to do. And the horses look great on it.

John Dowdy:

Yeah. Well, and it makes you feel good as an owner when your horse is looking good, feeling good, and then they're happy doing their job or whatever it is, even if it's out there running around in the pasture. So let ask you this, since you've been feeding the product, have you noticed a little bit more spunk in the horses out there in the field?

Randy Hargis:

Oh, yeah. Without question. That's what I was going to say. It's really good to see them looking as good and handling as they do. But boy when you get on them, you can feel them paying attention and they are ready to go. So yeah. I mean, that's kind of stepped that up. All these things that I'm just kind of discovering the longer I'm on it, the results are that noticeable. And then all of these other things come along, like for sure stepped up energy. So I'm kind of noticing those things as we go along.

John Dowdy:

Now would you consider the horse being hot? Or just feeling better? Cause I know there's going to be some people that think, "Well, I don't want my horse hot." That's not what it is. Is it? Or how would you describe it?

Randy Hargis:

Yeah. Oh yeah no, not at all John. I wouldn't even come close to saying he's hot. I've had some hot horses and this is certainly not that. This is a willingness. And you know, you're around your horse you know when they're feeling good, you know when they're having and off day. Well we're not having any off days on this Equinety, and they're not charging and hot and run off, nothing like that. I mean, they're just, they look good and they feel good and they're ready to go to work.

John Dowdy:

Yeah. That's great. Well, I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share these stories. So I know you're super busy out there, but I also know there's a lot of people that are going to benefit from hearing these. Maybe it'll touch home with one of the horses or several horses that they have. So Randy Hargis out of Oklahoma. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your stories here on the Team Equinety podcast.

Randy Hargis:

It been a pleasure, John. Thank you very much.

John Dowdy:

Okay. Thank you. Bye-bye.

Randy Hargis:

You bet. Goodbye.
